Happy 2008!

For those of you who read my journal entry and went to vote for me in the Court TV "Next Great Crime Writer" Contest - thank you very much. I finished in the top 5 most-voted-for entries, but did not make it to the next round (top 3 + 2 editorial picks). That's ok, because I've been advised by some other, more experienced (with publication) writer that I should be able to capitalize on being an editorial selection for the semi-final round (only 10 out of 270 entries were selected). So, that's good news!

I just need to write query letters telling people the good news. O_o

But, anyway...THANK YOU for your support, and I just can't say that enough.

If you've never heard of it, it's a 30 day (give or take) period where we as fanfic authors and fanartists pledge to deliver a (rated PG-13 or higher) fanwork (for an agreed-upon set of pairings) on a particular day. Audience members and Creators alike are encouraged to review because everyone has a shot of being in the drawing for a prize - at the end of the contest - so it's a fun-tastic month of lemon-y/romantic goodness and support/encouragement for your work. What could be better than that?
